The Trust Story

Sylvia Hubbard began Greenacres Waiheke in 1998 as the recently widowed mother of 4. She realised along with her late Husband Tim that Waiheke had no organic waste processing facilities that were operating responsibly and ethically. Tim eagerly began several projects including the purchasing of the Greenacres land and the acquisition of a resource consent and was unfortunately unable to see the project through. Luckily, Sylvia had a clear vision, an analytical mind and a significant child labour force. Now she seeks, along with other Trustees, to help other disadvantaged families flourish on Waiheke Island.
